This Malaria Prevention PGD covers malaria prophylaxis medicines for travellers. It is a single-service option for pharmacy professionals who need the selected PGD rather than a broader package.

Who is this PGD for?

This product is for individual use by one named pharmacist or registered pharmacy technician planning to offer malaria prevention services under the relevant PGDs. You must meet the professional eligibility, training, competency and authorisation requirements of the relevant PGD before delivering the service.

Medicines covered

• Atovaquone/proguanil for adults and children.
• Doxycycline.
• Lariam.

Check the relevant PGD and the requirements for the intended journey and patient before supplying a medicine. Medicine selection remains subject to the applicable assessment and eligibility criteria.

The PGD covers the conditions under which the medicine or vaccine may be supplied or administered. Purchase of this product does not remove the requirement to assess each patient and comply with the PGD.

Online training and PGD access

Use the PGDPro learning platform to complete the online training and assessment required for your selected services. You must complete and pass the relevant modules before access to the associated PGD is granted. These modules supplement any mandatory training requirements for delivering the service.

Your learning-platform username and password will be issued upon purchase. Follow our PGD access guide to complete your training and find your documents.

Licence and pricing

The PGD licence runs for 12 months from purchase. Use of each PGD remains subject to its validity, successful completion of the required training and assessment, and individual authorisation.
